Begone Scars & Spots: The Magic Of Clinique Repairwear Laserfocus Wrinkle & Photo Damage Corrector
Hi dearies, thanks for all the great comments on my July empties post! I’m already looking forward to writing up my Aug empties post as my empties shopping bag is filling up nicely.
As mentioned, I’ve been on a skincare bent which is partly due to having less sensitive skin and thus able to have wiggle room in the types of products I can use.
I know that some folks may know this product already — Clinique Repairwear Laserfocus Wrinkle & Photo Damage Corrector, but for those of you who don’t, read on…
Now, I find the name of the product a little questionable because I have doubts about the wrinkle corrector claims but I do believe this product was instrumental in fading fresh acne scars in a fairly short period of time. I have to say that it doesn’t work on old freckles or scars, but it works on new ones.
I had this huge dark scar in between my eyebrows from an angry (and vengeful) cystic type pimple and three little dark scars on my chest from acne. I diligently applied this serum on these spots for about three to four weeks and they are now GONE. The scars were there for a month and this serum was gifted to me by my sister-in-law around that time so I started using it then.
I have tried applying the serum all over my face but found my left cheek to itch and develop a bit of rash (that is my most sensitive area on my face — call me weird, but it’s the spot that would flare up if I try new products that are too harsh for my skin), so I just continued using this serum as a scar spot treatment.
The texture is a light oil-free milky lotion that sinks into the skin very quickly.
I’m happily applying it onto fresh scars on my back and they are on their way to being less obvious. I must say that you do have to keep at it everyday for it to work.
When it comes to whitening products, I do have misgivings, especially after the whole Kanebo fiasco in Japan (btw, Paris B has an interesting post here) and would hesitate to use any type of whitening product unless I know what is in the ingredients list.
I suppose Clinique has a very solid reputation so I do trust the brand and I’m pretty old school on how to not get darker — wear sunscreen all over, don’t tan yourself for the sake of tanning, and carry a brolly when the sun is an absolute killer in summer.
Do you know any products that are great in obliterating scars, age spots, or discolouration?
