Collagen Ice Cream

Let this be the conversation topic of your party or gathering with your girlfriends when you make them this lip-smackingly delicious collagen ice cream. And get this, there is no fattening dairy or refined sugar to make you feel guilty.

Recipe:

2 1/2 cups of soaked cashews
1 cup soaked dates
2 tbs maple syrup
3 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup nut milk (or any other non-dairy milks)
1 spoonful Meiji Amino Collagen

Blend the whole mixture into a thick chocolate smoothie in a high-speed blender. If your smoothie is too thick, pour in some more nut milk or water to get things going. Pour the liquid in bit by bit till you get the consistency that you want. For most at-home ice cream makers, you need to freeze the bowl for at least 10 hours (or follow the instructions in your ice cream maker manual) to make fluffy, creamy ice cream. Pour the smoothie into the maker and wait for it do its magic. It should be done in 20 minutes or so.

What does it taste like? Just like ice cream but a little lighter and you don’t feel so heavy and stuffed after eating dairy ice cream.

Fuyu Persimmon Smoothie With Amino Collagen

In this fall/winter season, Japanese fuyu persimmons are in abundance so I came up with a spicy comforting smoothie recipe that is creamy and delicious. Persimmons are orange in color so they are full of beta-carotene which is great for skin repair. It’s a filling and energy-giving snack when it’s cold out and you feel like you need a pick-me-up.

Recipe (in a blender):

1 persimmon
1 banana
1 glass nut milk (or any milk of your choice)
Dash of cinnamon
Splash of vanilla essence
1 spoonful Meiji Amino Collagen

Enjoy!

Collagen Christmas Punch

For this festive season, I have a special Christmas beauty punch recipe that will keep pouring nutrients into your skin and body while partaking in turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and pudding. If you don’t have pears, apples or cranberries will taste just as refreshing, too.

Recipe (in a blender; makes 10 wine glasses):
1 pear
1 orange
1/4 lemon
1 tall glass of water
Slices of strawberry, lemon, & orange (for decoration)
1 spoonful Meiji Amino Collagen

Blend all the ingredient except the fruit slices in a high-speed blender, then use a strainer or nut milk bag to strain the pulp away. Pour into wine glasses and decorate with bright-colored fruit slices.

Merry Christmas in advance, everyone!

How to make a skin repair juice

Does your skin look sallow and in need of a boost after days of working hard and lacking some zzzs? Well, one way to lift your skin out of the dumps is to drink fresh juice daily. Or as often a busy gal can.

You guys know I’m pretty hardcore with my vegetable juices but I’m going to show you a very basic, yummy recipe that will leave you glowing inside and out.

Store-bought juices just don’t give your skin and body the same amount of essential vitamins and minerals that fresh ones can. Cucumber is chock full of silica which is one of the building blocks of collagen.

It’s a bit of a hassle, but you know, you can’t just wait for beauty to happen — you gotta do something about it.

Recipe:
1 apple
½ carrot
1 small cucumber
1 wedge of lime or lemon
1 cup water
1 spoonful Meiji Amino Collagen

Again, blend everything up and then strain the pulp away from the juice with a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag (you can get a smoother juice out of this). Or if you have a juicer, that would make things faster. But, this video proves that you don’t need fancy equipment to make beauty concoctions in your kitchen.

Beat cellulite with fresh grapefruit juice

Do you know grapefruit breaks down the fat in cellulite? What are you waiting for? Get more of it into your body!

Today’s video will show you how to make fresh juice without an expensive juicer. All you need are a blender and a strainer or nut milk bag. I prefer a nut milk bag because it strains out the pulp very well, but most people have a fine-mesh strainer, so you can use that, too.

In this video, I also talk about why store-bought juices are not good for you, which is why I take the trouble to make my own fresh. If you think about it, some things, when made convenient, turn out to be less healthy for you.

Recipe:
½ pink grapefruit
5-6 ice cubes
1 glass water
1 spoonful of Meiji Amino Collagen

Disclaimer: We are not saying that the combination of grapefruit juice and amino collagen will get rid of cellulite or even speed up the process of losing it. This is just a suggestion on how to drink this beauty supplement and it just so happens grapefruit juice is great for eliminating those wobbly bits.

Key Lime Pie Smoothie + Amino Collagen – Big Yum

This is an ode to the avocado. I love avocados and can’t seem to get enough.

One of my fave ways to pump in more fresh avocado (and all those awesome omega fatty acids) into my diet is in a key lime pie flavored smoothie. Indulge your skin and body with fresh ingredients and nutrients. Beauty starts from the inside!

Recipe:
1 glass fresh apple juice
½ avocado
Juice of ½ lime (or a whole one if you like it more citrusy)
1½ or 2 frozen bananas
1 tsp maple syrup (or any sweetener of your choice)
1 tsp vanilla extract or seeds of one vanilla bean
1 spoonful Meiji Amino Collagen

Delicious Chocolate Hemp Smoothie With Amino Collagen

Another superfood I’ve been dabbling with is hemp. I’ve read many good things about hemp: it’s got a lot of protein, amino acids, omega fatty acids, chlorophyll and more. It’s filling so you don’t get hungry fast after having some, plus it has fiber so it aids digestion and bowel movement.

Though it’s got a hippie reputation, I think anybody can include this nutritious superfood into their diet. You can read about the health benefits of hemp right here.

The way I consume hemp powder is in a rich chocolate banana smoothie. It’s so full of nutrients that I don’t even feel guilty chugging one of these babies every other day.

Instead of reaching for commercial chocolate with tons of refined sugar, you can make a healthy chocolate alternative that will give you that much needed chocolate fix and great for your body.

Recipe:
1 glass nut milk (or any milk you desire)
2 frozen bananas
1 tbs unsweetened dark cocoa powder
1 tbs hemp powder
2 dates
1 spoonful Meiji Amino Collagen

Goji Heaven Smoothie + Amino Collagen

We’ve got a yummy superfood smoothie recipe for you today. I love goji berries in my shakes as they are not only delicious but full of nutrients that are good for you. Goji berries, (also called wolf berries) are from China and Tibet.

Don’t underestimate their tiny wrinkled appearance as they are known to protect the liver, improve immune function, and increase fertility. Goji berries are packed full of anti-oxidants like beta carotene which are great for skin.

Be warned: This will knock your socks off. Remember to freeze your fruit to get an incredible creamy texture.

Recipe:
2 small mangoes, frozen
4 pieces of pineapple, frozen
Juice of 1 small orange
½ cup goji berries
1 glass water
1 spoonful of Meiji Amino Collagen

Berry Bliss Smoothie With Meiji Amino Collagen

A mixed berry smoothie is my all-time fave drink to pair with Meiji Amino Collagen. It’s not too sweet and full of free-radical fighting anti-oxidants. Keep aging skin at bay by nourishing your skin with high-nutrient, yummy goodness.

Recipe:
1 banana
½ cup berries (strawberries and blackberries; blueberries and raspberries; blueberries with strawberries — or any permutation you want!)
1/4 lemon
½ cup water
Ice
1 spoonful of Meiji Amino Collagen

Blend all the ingredients till smooth in a high-speed blender.

Argh, just a small correction: at the end of my video, if you noticed at all, I said, “….free radicals cause anti-aging.” I meant, “aging”…! Fill up on berries to soak up anti-oxidants that fight aging skin!
