Fabulous Beauty Reads Vol. 3

Photobucket

It’s the time of the month for the top five beauty links that grabbed my attention in December. Believe me when I say this — I read a lot of beauty blogs and watch tons of YouTube beauty gurus in my spare time but there are only a handful that truly stand out. Here are my picks…

Memorable Days posted Adobe’s latest ad campaign in her blog, Fotoshop by Adobé – Makes you look like a model!, and it kinda screws with your mind because you don’t know if Adobe is truly promoting photo-editing in a negative or positive way. It’s a laugh anyway but let me know what you think.

I’ve mentioned a few times that I love watching Ruth Crilly, aka A Model Recommends, and her mum actually has a blog called, My Mum Says, and it is truly a hoot. She doesn’t post regularly but it makes me chuckle to see that perhaps Ruth’s partiality to luxe products could’ve come from her mum.

The BF Christmas Gift Guide 2012 by Renee at Beauty Fool is one of the most unique (and hilarious) gift guides for Xmas. I know it’s over but these are still funny gift ideas anytime of the year.

There has been a lot of buzz over CC Creams lately but I only ever really see Rachel K or Olay being given a mention but Tine gives a detailed run down on the newest CC Creams on the market at her blog, CC Creams: What They Are And What They Can Do For You. She also has her hands on – gasp! – Chanel’s CC Cream. I’ll definitely be the first to read her review!

  1. The Adobe’ ad is a parody :) That’s why the spellings are different both for Photoshop and Adobe.
It’s really meant to mock too much photoshopping especially in the print industry.

  2. @Vivi: in that case, it’s a really cool ad. ;) Adobe is not afraid to speak out about over air-brushing etc.

  3. It wasn’t done by Adobe either, I think.
I’ve read this article on another website before, it was done by a talented freelancer but I can’t find the article again :(
