Meiji Amino Collagen Premium is an upgraded version of the original Meiji Amino Collagen. Made from low molecular fish collagen, arginine (an amino acid great for skin) glucosamine, and vitamin C, it also has Coenzyme Q10 and Hyaluronic Acid as extra anti-aging agents to be absorbed by the skin.
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is quite the rage in Japanese beauty products and has been nicknamed “the key to the fountain of youth”. Hyaluronic acid fills the spaces between cells, and keeps them hydrated them by absorbing moisture and serves as a protective buffer, or a “cushion” between cells.
You need to keep this acid at optimal levels so your skin will have enough moisture. If you have low levels of this in this, your skin will become dry and age quickly. While hyaluronic acid can be found in root vegetables, it’s also a natural substance produced by the body and it decreases due to factors like increasing age, cigarette smoke, or if you suffer a zinc or magnesium deficiency. So if you injest more of it, you can slow down the aging process. You can say that Premium is more power-packed with anti-aging supplements.
What is Coenzyme Q10?
CoQ10 is an antioxidant that fights harmful free radicals, which cause aging skin. Ideally the body should be able to produce enough of its own CoQ10, but stress, aging, and medications could reduce the body’s CoQ10 levels. Taking CoQ10 supplements can help the body replenish this vital chemical.
Why is Meiji Amino Collagen such a great product?
Gives great skin. Although this collagen product does not remove wrinkles, it does make your skin more supple and youthful-looking after a few months of consistent consumption.
Low-fat. Since this product is low in calories, it should not interfere if you are on a diet.
Safe. If taken according to instructions, 5,000mg or one Meiji spoonful (provided in the tin) daily, Meiji Amino Collagen is a safe supplement. Before you try any new health product, do consult your doctor if you have any concerns, particularly if you have kidney problems.
Almost tasteless. Meiji Amino Collagen is almost without any flavour so it can be taken with sweet or savoury liquids, for example, yoghurt, juice, soup, or even pasta sauce. But my preferred choice is grapefruit or cranberry juice as they taste good. Meiji Amino Collagen does not change even if you heat it up so you can consume it in hot drinks.

I am interested in purchasing your product but first I need to know, does this product contain any pork products, shellfish or animal fats? please respond asap. Also it mentioned getting 30 day refill for same price as 28 day canister yet lists it at $57 not $38. how do I get it for only $38?
By robin vecchio on 01.28.10 12:04 pm | Permalink
Hi Robin, no this product does not have pork, as it is made from fish collagen. This is the premium product you are looking at and it is going for USD58 at our store.

Hello,
I purchased a tin of meiji amino collagen premium for the first time – and I noticed that when I mix it into juice it does not dissolve, but floats around in little white lumps.
Is it supposed to dissolve, or is that normal?? Thanks!
By brianna on 08.11.10 9:00 am | Permalink
Hi Brianna, yes that’s normal. Just keep stirring or you could add more juice to help it dissolve better.

Hi Yuming
I’m 30 y o
and i don’t have many problems with my skin, what do you recommend for me? using the premium or the regular one.
Thanks
By lolo on 08.18.10 6:49 pm | Permalink
Try the regular one first since you don’t have issues with your skin. I would recommend the premium for those who want more moisturizing power.

By tina on 11.13.10 10:22 am | Permalink
This product is meant for dealing with aging effects on the skin…. nothing to do with acne.
By yuming on 11.14.10 6:31 am | Permalink
Hi,
would u recommend the premium for older persons eg. 40 and above? what if we have combination skin, will taking the premium cause the skin to be oilier?
By Patricia on 11.18.10 3:56 pm | Permalink
Hi, yes the premium is recommended for more mature individuals. Your skin type doesn’t really matter when it comes to taking this supplement.
By yuming on 11.22.10 2:22 pm | Permalink
I am 26 with normal skin, do you recommend Meiji Amino Collagen Premium or just the regular one? Also, do you recommend this to be taken in early morning right after getting up from bed or at night before bed?
By cteng on 01.15.11 2:22 pm | Permalink
I think the regular one woukd be more suitable for those who are in their 20s. The premium product is targeted at more mature women.
