It feels like a long time since I posted something Japanese on my blog — here they are: two eyeshadow palettes I’ve been using very often these past few weeks.

Coffret D’Or Eyes Appeal Shadow 01 (2940JPY) has such pretty shades and I especially love the shimmery cappuccino one on the bottom left. When I bought it, it said on the shelf that it was their #1 bestselling palette. Of the whole collection, I liked this the best because of its softness and versatility. You could make it smokier by putting on more dark brown or you could focus more on the lighter shades for a fresher look.

Here’s the swatch for it….I think this palette would suit most people because you can’t go wrong with these neutral tones.

I chose the black palette case because I already have the white and pink one when I bought their blush palette some time back.

Next up, something for night time and for those all-back outfits I’m sometimes fond of wearing — a silver gun metal palette from Esprique Precious called Dual Gradation Eyes 04 (3150JPY). They are now rebranded as just Esprique — with a new collection to herald that in plus Namie Amuro as their new spokesperson…Just when I am digging my heels into something of theirs, they come up with new stuff to tempt me!!

I love the pink shades that are great for rimming the under-eye area…

I travelled with these two palettes to Melbourne where I had casual and formal events to go to, so they were all I needed. If I had to choose though, I would pick the Coffret D’Or one because it’s just so versatile and suitable for night or day. Though having said that, I still like both brands as they are definitely a level up in terms of quality and colour from super cheap drugstore brands but kinder on the wallet compared to high-end ones.

PS: I just realized that I have five more months to my wedding so have just ramped up my diet and skincare routine. I never thought I would be “one of those brides” but who doesn’t want to glow on a night where all eyes will be on you? So more on this later…
